Opening Night Party at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show
Washington State Convention Center, Seattle
The Northwest Flower & Garden Show returns to the Washington State Convention Center in February, 2016, and once again the Arboretum Foundation will kick off the show with its annual Opening Night Party & Auction. Guests will enjoy a fabulous evening of delicious food, wine bars, live entertainment, and alluring auctions, and the opportunity to view the beautiful display gardens at the Garden Show the day before it opens to the public—all while helping us raise important funds to support Washington Park Arboretum.
The 2015 Party
The 2015 Garden Show (February 11 to 15, 2015) fell on the same week as St. Valentine’s Day, and the show theme was “Romance Blossoms.” Our party incorporated this theme—as did our annual garden display, which was an interactive, love-themed homage to Azalea Way. The event was a tremendous success and raised significant funds for the Arboretum. Our “Fund-A-Need” section of the auction alone raised more than $57,000 to support our multi-faceted volunteer program at the Arboretum.
Mayoral mojo: The Honorable Ed Murray, Mayor of Seattle, and his husband Michael Shiosaki were our honorary co-chairs for this year’s party. Ed and Michael are longtime friends of the Arboretum, and we were delighted to have their support.
