After two years in its interim location at the Arboretum, FlorAbundance will return to the newly renovated Building 30 at Magnuson Park in 2014. Please join us in late April for the region’s largest and best plant sale, and help support the Foundation’s mission. As always, dozens of specialty nurseries will be on hand selling a wonderful selection of locally grown trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and edibles.
40 nurseries: “There’ll be at least 40 nurseries in attendance,” says our volunteer Event Chair Bob Lilly. “Expect a unique selection of high-quality plants, including lots of veggies for your kitchen garden. As always, Langley Fine Gardens will have an amazing array of vegetable starts. In addition, for the first time in quite a while, they’ll be offering a diverse crop of ornamental salvias.

A cornucopia of high-quality plants: “Look for a great selection of fine shrubs and fuchsias from Lee Farm and Nursery and Robinwood Nursery,” continues Bob. “You’ll find wonderful plants for the shade garden at Growing Girls Nursery and Keeping It Green. Bouquet Banque Nursery and Sundquist Nursery will have an amazing array of epimediums. And this is just a small taste of the cornucopia of botanical treasures awaiting shoppers at FlorAbundance.”
Member Pre-Sale & Party
Arboretum members and their guests are invited to attend the FlorAbundance Pre-Sale & Party, on Friday, April 25, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Get the first pick of plants at the sale, while enjoying live music, delicious local wine, and tasty appetizers from the celebrated Skillet food truck—back again this year by popular demand. Early-bird tickets are $40. Tickets purchased after April 11 will be $50. You can purchase them online or by calling 206-325-4510. Ticket numbers are limited—so please buy yours soon!
Expert help: As an extra perk for our Pre-Sale guests, we’ll have volunteer plant experts and personal shoppers ready to help you with any plant or garden questions you might have.
Windcliff Plants: In addition, Robert Jones will be joining us exclusively on Friday to sell Windcliff Plants—named for the stunning home garden that he has created with husband Dan Hinkley in Indianola. Windcliff Plants is a “pop-and-pop” enterprise focusing on Dan’s collection work and featuring uncommon plants from around the world that are highly adapted to the Pacific Northwest and deserving of greater recognition.
Volunteering at FlorAbundance
FlorAbundance would not be possible without the hard work of our many dedicated volunteers. If you’d like to help out at the sale, please email Megan Meyer or call her at 206-325-4510.
All sales at FlorAbundance benefit Washington Park Arboretum. Your plant purchases help support the maintenance and education programs at the Arboretum!
