Kick off the new gardening season with a trip to FlorAbundance, the Arboretum Foundation's spring plant sale, now in its 60th year. Described by Ann Lovejoy as "horticultural heaven" in last year's Seattle P-I, our weekend-long sale is the biggest and best plant sale in the Puget Sound region. Dozens of top specialty nurseries and vendors from our area will be on hand selling a wide selection of choice, locally-grown plants, from ornamental trees to tasty edibles.
What to look for this year:
- Lots of great new vegetable varieties and heirlooms for your kitchen-garden patch
- Tea trees, mint bush, phormiums, and salvias to replace those lost to harsh winter weather
- New hardy fuschias
- Native plants
- And much more
Admission and parking are free. The sale benefits Washington Park Arboretum.
