Commemorative Giving
at Washington Park Arboretum
The
Arboretum Foundation offers a number of commemorative giving opportunities
designed to celebrate a loved one or a special friend while providing
support for Washington Park Arboretum. Tribute gifts of any amount
are welcomed by the Foundation and provide much-needed financial
support to sustain this 230-acre living museum in the heart of Seattle.
Tribute
and Memorial Gifts
Gifts of any amount can
be made in honor or memory of an individual or group. Tribute gifts
are a popular way to make a thoughtful gift recognizing a friend
or family member while demonstrating support for the Arboretum.
In response to each gift, a personalized card is sent to the family
of the honoree notifying them of the gift. To
make a tribute gift, call 206-325-4510, or make a secure online
gift here.
Memorial Trees
In late 2007, the Arboretum Foundation was pleased to bring back a beloved commemorative giving opportunity—the Memorial Tree Program. This is a wonderful way to celebrate the life of a loved one while supporting Washington Park Arboretum. There are currently 40 hand-chosen trees and shrubs available for “adoption.” Among them are a lovely Acer Palmatum ‘Butterfly’ near the Woodland Garden and a rare Carrierea calycina, whose creamy-white flowers appear in June. Memorial trees are available for a donation of $1,000 each. For more information or a description of trees available, please contact Julia White, Development Coordinator, at 206-325-4510.

Recognition and Dedication
Commemorative bench gifts
are recognized in a memorial book at the reception desk at the Graham
Visitors Center. A dedication page with a map showing the location
of each tribute is for family and visitors to reference.
