“Preserve the peace and stability that the Arboretum brings to us all!”
Dear Friend of the Arboretum,
The Washington Park Arboretum is a special treasure to the Pacific Northwest. I think sometimes we take it for granted that it’s readily available whenever we feel the need for a quiet walk, a bit of cool air on a hot summer’s day, a glimpse of brilliant autumn. However, this one-of-a-kind resource needs your support in order to remain the vibrant place it is today.
Since my family and I moved to Montlake in 1983, we have watched the Arboretum grow even more beautiful through the addition of the Winter Garden, the Graham Visitors Center, and the Pacific Connections Garden. The Arboretum was our son’s backyard. When snow fell it became everyone’s surprise holiday outing. Nowadays, my husband and I explore the many paths through the seasons, meeting and visiting with our neighbors and their dogs.
The Arboretum’s 230 acres of nature provide a respite from the busyness that defines so much of our lives. As this region goes through so much change, we must preserve the peace and stability that the Arboretum brings to us all. Seattle would not be the same without the Arboretum.
The Arboretum needs your support to sustain it. Every year, private support from donors like you provides funding for childhood education, tree and garden maintenance, and new gardens and collections. Without you, none of this would be possible.
