Help Us Build a More Balanced Future!
Dear Arboretum supporter:
During a recent trip to Scandinavia, I toured the KlimaLab at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo—an exhibition about climate, nature, and people. Given the prestigious location, I was expecting to read about intricate climate policy or sweeping strategies. Instead, it focused on how each of us can play a part in getting our planet back on balance.
Working together to care for the Washington Park Arboretum is one of those balancing gifts we can give to future generations. Thank you for being part of the Arboretum community, and for supporting the ideas and places that you care about. I invite you to continue your generosity by making a year-end contribution today in support of trees and environmental stewardship.
I often marvel at the fact that we have 230 acres of world-class plant collections, specialty gardens, trails, and wetlands right in the heart of Seattle—available at no charge to the public 365 days a year. Through each season, we enjoy all the charms and lessons the Arboretum has to offer. Are we doing all we can to pay that forward?
Here are some of the ways your gift enables our journey to a more sustainable future:
- Healthier trees: Arborists can identify and proactively address the effects of changing climate conditions and invasive pests.
- Biodiverse collections: Visitors learn to value the amazing variety of plants as they marvel at specimens from our region and around the globe.
- Budding naturalists: Youth environmental education programs—accessible to all via scholarships—inspire the next generation to learn and care about their natural surroundings.
We rely on the generosity of people just like you to foster the Northwest’s greatest public garden. With a gift to our Fall Appeal, you help us build momentum towards a more balanced future. Individually our actions may be small, but together we can be mighty!
Warm wishes for a healthy and inspired autumn,
