Individual Giving
Charitable gifts made by members of the public are vitally important to sustaining Washington Park Arboretum. Donors can give to “restricted funds” to support specific programs, such as Youth Education, the Arboretum Maintenance Program, and the Seattle Japanese Garden. Donors may also choose to support our capital campaign, which is currently focused on the pre-design of a new Environmental Education Center at the Arboretum.
In addition, donors may choose to give to the Foundation’s annual or unrestricted fund, which is used to support the general operations of the Arboretum Foundation and the Arboretum. Each year, the Arboretum Foundation board designates a portion of the annual fund to support the basic needs of the Arboretum, such as gardeners, tree care, and education. The fund is also used to support special needs and initiatives such as heavy gardening equipment and the two 2010 bioblitzes, which surveyed the biological diversity in the Arboretum.
